A Guide to Printing with Intention
Thank you for bringing Big Feelings, Take a Breath into your home. This piece was thoughtfully designed to create a quiet, grounding space for your child to explore their emotions.
To help you transform this digital artwork into a lasting, gallery-quality wall print, here are our recommended guidelines for paper, printing, and framing.
1. Choosing the Right Paper
The paper you choose brings texture, weight, and warmth to the physical artwork. We recommend avoiding high-gloss photo paper and instead opting for soft, natural textures.
Paper Weight: Look for stock between 200 gsm and 300 gsm (grams per square meter). Heavyweight paper prevents curling and gives the print a substantial, archival feel.
Finish: Select a Fine Art Matte or Smooth Velvet finish. A non-reflective surface allows the gentle colors to show softly without harsh glare under room lighting.
Material: For a true slow-living aesthetic, ask for 100% Cotton Rag or Recycled Eco-Matte paper. Cotton fibers hold ink beautifully and age gracefully over time.
2. Where to Print
Local Fine Art or Giclée Printers: The best choice for rich, true-to-tone color accuracy and sustainable, eco-friendly inks.
High-Street Print Shops: Local independent print shops or high-end copy centers can easily print on heavy matte cardstock. Simply bring the file on a USB drive or upload via their portal.
At Home: If printing at home, ensure your printer settings are set to "Highest Quality" or "Photo Quality," select the correct paper type in settings, and print at 100% scale (do not fit to page unless adjusting for custom margins).
3. Framing & Displaying
Natural Materials: Pair your print with solid oak, natural birch, or soft pine frames to complement a calm, organic aesthetic.
Mat Board / Passe-Partout: Framing with an off-white or cream mat board gives the artwork room to breathe and draws focus to the design.
Hanging Low: If placing this in a child's quiet corner or bedroom, hang the frame at child-eye level so they can easily interact with the visual cues when feeling overwhelmed.
Designed with care for peaceful homes and growing minds.
